Pseća je herpesviroza globalno prisutna virusna zarazna bolest prouzročena psećim herpesvirusom 1 (Canid alphaherpesvirus-1; CHV). Infekcija ovim virusom ima dvije faze: litičku i latentnu. Sam ishod infekcije uvelike ovisi o dobi razvijenosti imunološkog sustava psa. Prilikom stresa imunosupresije latentni virus reaktivirati uspostaviti fazu. Time ponovno počinje replicirati izlučivati, a oboljeli pas mora isključiti iz uzgoja jer predstavlja izvor daljnjeg širenja virusa. Ipak, primjenom cjepiva gravidnih kuja moguće zaštititi novorođenu spriječiti teške posljedice pasa.

Pathology of Kaposi’s Sarcoma-Associated Herpesvirus Infection
Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV; human herpesvirus 8) is a human herpesvirus, classified as a gamma-herpesvirus. KSHV is detected in Kaposi's sarcoma (KS), primary effusion lymphoma (PEL), and some cases of multicentric Castleman's disease (MCD). Similar to other herpes viruses, there are two phases of infection, latent and lytic. In KSHV-associated malignancies such as KS and PEL...

Infection in adults is often inapparent, and latency follows. However, self-limiting lesions can occur on the genitalia of sexually active animals. Reproductive failure manifests as ear...
Genome Sequence of Canine Herpesvirus
Canine herpesvirus is a widespread alphaherpesvirus that causes a fatal haemorrhagic disease of neonatal puppies. We have used high-throughput methods to determine the genome sequences of three viral strains (0194, V777 and V1154) isolated in the United Kingdom between 1985 and 2000. The sequences are very closely related to each other. The canine herpesvirus genome is estimated to be 125 kbp i...

Leporid herpesvirus-4 is a novel alphaherpesvirus that has been identified as the cause of mortality in commercial and pet rabbits in North America. Experimental intranasal inoculation of laboratory rabbits has been conducted to determine the clinical course of infection, pathologic findings, virus shedding and development of serum antibodies. Rabbits show peak clinical signs between 3-7 days p...
A serological study of canine herpesvirus-1 infection in a population of breeding bitches in Norway
BACKGROUND Canine herpesvirus-1 (CHV1) causes a fatal hemorrhagic disease in neonatal puppies and is associated with infertility in female dogs. This study was conducted to assess the status of CHV1 infection in bitches in proestrus or estrus and to investigate possible risk factors by a detailed questionnaire. Blood samples were collected from healthy bitches (n = 193) not vaccinated against C...
